PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment therapy helps an array of medical and cosmetic conditions. Medspa technicians, dentists, dermatologists, eye doctors, and chiropractors are a few health care professionals who use PRP. Platelets contain proteins that promote growth and healing. Sometimes PRP is referred to as Growth Factor treatments. If you want to learn how PRP can help your medical condition, visit our website's medical PRP page. If you would like to discover the cosmetic benefits, our team at Knoxville Medical & Chiropractic is here to help.

What Is PRP?

We use a syringe to draw a small amount of blood from you. Then we rapidly spin the blood sample in a centrifuge. In the centrifuge, the blood separates into three layers of plasma. The heavy red blood cells fall to the bottom. The middle layer of plasma contains most of the platelets. We inject the platelet-rich layer back into the treatment area using a small needle. Lots of growth-promoting platelets concentrate in a small area, increasing the rate of growth and healing. The analogous natural process poses minimal risk.

Benefits of Receiving Aesthetic PRP Treatments

PRP treatments provide many aesthetic benefits for men and women. You don't need to visit a fancy hospital or far-away facility. You can receive treatment from your Knoxville chiropractor. PRP therapy benefits the skin in many ways. It lessens wrinkles, smooths rough patches, and evens skin tone. PRP treatments also reduce the appearance of acne scars and spider veins. Some patients request PRP therapy to offset male pattern baldness. Look younger and feel more confident. Reduce wrinkles around your eye area and decolletage. Achieve smoother skin and even skin tone. PRP therapy reduces hyperpigmentation by promoting the growth of new, healthy skin cells. PRP treatments encourage collagen production, providing your skin with more elasticity and a healthy glow.
